Preliminary Task - Have you fed the fish?

In this preliminary task we had to create a story around a main line of 'have you fed the fish?', this led me and my group to first come up with locations, actors and a plot/storyline for the short film.

Parts of this short film were successful, such as we found a good location which was effective as we had ideas of setting it in either a alleyway or park, and we chose to go with a park as we believed we could use lots of different shots in a larger area (such as wip-pan, long shot, extreme long shot). Some of our shots were executed well such as the first shot of the short film which was a wip-pan, this helped establish the setting to viewers. Another effective shot was an over the shoulder shot which showed a character point of view and their surroundings.

There were also several areas which couldve been improved in our short film, such as we had techincal difficulties with the sound, we attempted to improve this error by putting subtitles into our work, but this still wasn't as effective due to there being no sound from around the area aswell as the dialogue from the actors. Other shots werent executed well such as an action shot of a character running round the corner which did not keep the film flowing.
